Shouun Oriental Art / Orient Occident
Introduction to the Gallery
Our gallery has 2 floors
Shouun Oriental Art, established in 1987, is an art gallery located on the Namiki-dori in Ginza.
Specializations include, ceramic works from Jomon, Yayoi, Kofun periods, and ancient kilns; Shinto and Buddhist art; fine paintings; calligraphic works; and tea utensils.
In the street level space called "Orient Occident", unique thematic exhibitions showcasing art from all times and places are held.
On the second floor, we invite our visitors to relax and enjoy the beauty of antique art in the tea room "Unso-an".
Mika Gallery, established in 2003, is a sister-gallery located in New York; which holds exhibitions to introduce prehistoric to contemporary Japanese works of art.
We hope that through our exhibitions, visitors to our galleries will have many encounters with "Old and beautiful things".
