KAWABATA Kenta solo exhibition ”Document / Skin”

Born in 1994 in Saitama Prefecture, The artist completed his master's degree at Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School. Until now, I have been working on creating paintings and sculptures by thinking about gaps that seem to be indirect transmission of information between people, such as modern visual experiences and senses, individual symbolization, and multi-layered communication with people associated with the spread of the internet.

It was collected by the Tokyo University of the Arts University Art Museum in 2019, was selected for the Taro Okamoto Award for Contemporary Art in 2023, and won the Nomura Art Award in 2026, and has continued activities such as being selected as Mr. O Memorial Scholarship, Kuma Foundation 4th Term Scholarship, Sato International Cultural Education Foundation Scholarship, and Kamiyama Foundation Scholarship.
