Noboru Kataguchi's works are unique. They are but circles painted on paper in black acrylic. From the simple, repetitive action emerges what is also the portrait of the artist himself.
These paintings can be different things to different people. Profound or simple? Are they bacteria moving, or the burst of energy at the inception of the universe?
No wonder there is an increasing interest in his art, especially overseas.
